Why this page exists

Many rooms learn not to silence correction outright. The subtler move is to let correction happen while quietly changing what it costs.

The person who names the problem starts sounding harsh. The person who asks for revision starts sounding difficult. The person who quotes the record back starts sounding procedural, brittle, or socially clumsy. Soon correction is still technically available, but it carries a reputational tax.
