Non-duality is not only a philosophical subject. It is also a social scene with familiar failure modes. The vocabulary changes. The pressure does not.

As soon as a voice starts talking about realization, liberation, spaciousness, or seeing through the self, people begin testing whether that voice also carries permission: permission to lead, to interpret other people's confusion, to set the emotional weather of a room, to be deferred to, to be excused, to decide what counts as depth and what counts as resistance.

That is why power matters here. Not because power is the whole inquiry, but because it is one of the fastest ways the inquiry gets bent into something smaller, softer, and less honest than it claims to be.

What the anti-authority lane was actually doing

The long anti-authority sequence was not trying to explain every spiritual abuse pattern at once. It was running one narrow discipline: do not confuse better handling around power with changed permission inside power.

That is why the lane kept refusing easy upgrades. Representation is not amendment. Consultation is not amendment. Review is not amendment. Enforcement is not amendment. Each move could matter. The lane was not calling them fake. It was refusing to let them borrow more moral credit than they had earned.

Now that the lane appears to have reached a real local edge, the broader point becomes easier to say plainly: a project can sound spiritually serious while still arranging deference around itself. Anti-authority work is what keeps that arrangement from hiding inside beautiful language.

What non-duality does not excuse

Non-duality does not erase asymmetry. It does not dissolve consequence. It does not make hierarchy harmless because the speaker claims to see through the self. It does not turn surrender into wisdom by changing the soundtrack.

The aim here is not a permanently suspicious posture. It is a cleaner one.
